Will The Real Mary Please Stand Up

WHOSE NAME IS PROMINANT WHERE YOU WORSHIP?

“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5).

“9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11). “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

DO THE MATH: The church Jesus is the Head of was established in 32AD, in Jerusalem, and that was approximately 1,990 years ago from the time of this message. Catholic: First “prayer for Mary”. [Sub Tuum Praesidium]. “Beneath Thy Compassion” (250 AD). Leaders of the Catholic church would actually state this prayer is a “plea to Mary in her role as an intercessor for humanity with God. According to the math, Mary was not elevated in the church Christ built, but over 250 years later by another church not built by God, but by man.

There has been much conflicting, confusing and outright lying concerning the mother of Jesus. At one end you have the lack of teaching and Mary’s importance is pretty much ignored altogether. At the other end to the extreme, some false teachers have elevated her to a place where only God and Jesus are.

This lesson, though short, will do a comparison between the false teachings, and the teaching from God’s own breath. My hope is to bring the real Mary according to the scripture forward, and shine the light of God’s word on the fabricated Mary that so many have come to worship. Consider these scriptures: “You shall have no other gods before Me” (Exodus 20:3), “And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”” (Revelation 19:10), “Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only'” (Matthew 4:10).
