The question is are children born in sin, or do they learn sin? The truth is every one is responsible for their own conduct. Paul said, Col 3:25 “But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality”. Gal 6:7&8 “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”
Fact is that God made man upright. “Truly, this only I have found: That God made man upright, But they have sought out many schemes” (Eccl. 7:29), and “You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you” (Ezek. 28:15 ). Babies are beautiful and they bite, but until they learn biting is wrong, they aren’t guilty of sin! Sin is a choice, we aren’t born sinners we become sinners. Man is a free moral agent with choice – obey or disobey. Sin exists when we know to do good, and don’t. “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin” (James 4:17 ). Sin happens when we go beyond God’s Word “Whoever transgresses(προάγω) and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son” (2 John 9).
The Bible, the word of God both the Old Testament and the New Testament agree that we are responsible for our own sin, our own conduct. For example, “Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall children be put to death for their fathers; a person shall be put to death for his own sin” (Deut. 24:16). And “The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself” (Ezek. 18:20). Children are not born in sin, they do not need the blood of Christ “till” they do sin. Children are not responsible till they have knowledge of good and evil which happens as they age and experience life. “Moreover your little ones and your children, who you say will be victims, who today have no knowledge of good and evil, they shall go in there; to them I will give it, and they shall possess it” (Deut. 1:39 ).
