Question: What do Able, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Sarah all have in common with all Christians right now? We are all “strangers and pilgrims on the earth” (1 Peter 1:1, 2:11; Heb. 11:16). Heaven is our home, not this old world. Paul wrote, “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Col. 3:20). This world is a pagan world, meaning it is filled with pagan ideals such as Atheism and Humanism, which both are belief systems within themselves. There are clear signs that give proof such as promoting abortion, which is murdering of innocent children. Freedom to divorce for any reason and marry another. Homosexuality, same-sex marriages. Increasing ridicule and clear and calculated efforts to eradicate Christianity from schools, businesses, and paint it as “taboo” opposed to science and higher thought. How shall Christians live day to day and remain faithful? Peter steps us through systematically, in the first three chapters.
