The Devil wants nothing more than for Christians to complain, mop, be stressed out, lack confidence, question faith, be depressed, and let all external, physical experiences drive their emotions so that when “bad things happen”, they will complain, mop, be stressed out, lack confidence, question faith, and be depressed.
God has a better plan. To the saints Paul wrote, “the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet” (Rom. 16:20), and “The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.” (Phil. 4:9). The God of peace has through the blood of Christ Who is our peace (Eph. 2:14), has given us a way to have peace that the world will never have — with a promise that “…the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:7).
To have this peace through Jesus one must be in Christ where all spiritual blessing are (Eph. 1:3) and where salvation is in Christ (2 Tim. 2:10). In this study we will look briefly at four steps that lead us toward the kind of peace that cannot be taken away by circumstance, troubles, or trials. That is to say not even “death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 8:38-39). Therefore, God is bigger that all these things and through Him your peace will stand till Jesus returns.
Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27), and promised, “Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you” (John 16:22).
The four steps are faith, prayer, bible study and forgiving others as Christ forgave you. Join with me as we delve into God’s word and again learn from our Creator things only He can teach us.
