Paul Prays for Strengthening – “14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father [a]of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,” (Eph. 3:14)
Remember after hearing of their faith and love Paul began praying for them that “God the Father of glory, may give to them the spirit of wisdom and revelation and that the eyes of their hearts, would be enlightened” (vs.16-18). That they would know the “exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe” (v.19). Remember that Paul’s first words in chapter 3 were “for this reason”, which indicates that he is once again continuing his thoughts. Here in verse 14, Paul continues his prayer with “For this reason I bow my knees” . Returning to his prayer for these Christians, now with desire that they would be “strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man.” Notice not physical, but through His Spirit—Paul prays that their inner man is strengthened.
You are strengthened, God does not simply want you to know it, but to live accordingly.
