Jesus Your Loving Shepherd

JESUS YOUR LOVING SHEPHERD

Foretold in Old Testament prophecy is the promise of a Shepherd…

Revealed in the New Testament is that Jesus is that Shepherd…

The motif of a shepherd is revealing…

HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR US…

Ecclesiastes Lesson 3 Seasons of Life

Something that is often easily overlooked, and often unappreciated is the changing of the seasons.

This is something that the Creator set in motion and promised that it would continue as long as the earth remains. The changing of the seasons is directly connected to the Lord’s love for you. After Noah and his family left the ark Noah built an altar and made a burnt offering to the Lord. Recorded in Genesis 8 we read, “21 And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done. 22 While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease.”” (Gen. 8:21-22). As difficult as it may be to appreciate snow and cold…
If we were to step back and see the big picture, we’d see that the changing of the seasons is a constant reminder of the Lord’s love for us
His unchanging ways and His covenant promise are seen.
We learn from the changing of the seasons that we can trust God.
Also, the changing of seasons speaks to predictability that nothing lasts forever, winter ends and gives way to springtime, springtime to summer, summer to fall a cycle that does not change.

As with the season, Solomon turns our attention to the idea of the seasons of life.
In this lesson we will consider two points from verses 1-10.
Then three closing points from verses 11- 15.
We begin with some observations from the first 9 verses…

Solomon begins the third chapter with “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven:” (Eccl. 3:1).
