The Unpopular Way – Saints and the Ones of the Bible – Part 6

Saints and the Ones of the Bible

Part 6

What makes God’s people so unpopular? Simply put it! We are unpopular because we speak the truth according to the word of God.

Armed only with the weapon of God’s word…

  • We “pull down strongholds”, like the walls of Jericho
  • We sound out God’s word and the walls of hypocrisy, humanism, Idolary, fall…
  • By revealing the righteousness of Christ we cast down false teachers, the way of the flesh – and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God…

And there is something we all need to know…

Beloved—we all can do this because—we are inspired by the truth of God’s word…

  • Truth—we are the children of the Most High God.
  • Truth—we never fear, never cower down in the face of opposition—because He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world.
  • Truth—Jesus rose from the grave—that emboldens us…eliminates fear…
  • Truth—this world is not our home—Heaven is—that empowers us to walk by the Spirit and not according to the flesh…

Thus, we proclaim the power of the gospel—which was then—and still is unpopular

And we say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”” (Heb. 13:6).

Because of this—we say…

  1. Censored: (Rom. 1:16), “we are not ashamed of the gospel of Christ…”
  2. Majority Rule: (Matt. 7:13), “wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction”, we know that “that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.” (1 Cor. 1:26).
  3. Good Saves: “there are none righteous”, (Rom. 3:10), that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23).
  4. feelings (Matt. 15:19), “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.”
  5. Unpopular because we reject division caused by denominations—we accept fully the law of Christ…
  6. For teaching truth about dance, and mix bathing as it relates to lewdness—which is sin.
  7. Because we do not accept society’s teaching of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  8. Rather We are guided “by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left”  (2 Cor. 6:7)
  9. So, the purpose of this series of lessons is to embolden us to stand firm and go out with conviction teaching and practicing the way of Christ as it is set forth in God’s word even when it’s unpopular…
  10. Popular or not– we know the inspired word of God is the only source of authority and truth – and so we teach!

Today, this our 6th lesson, we focus on how saints will be unpopular for teaching about the one’s taught in the bible…
