To Do Justly
“6 With what shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before the High God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? 7 Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:6-8).
Lately it seems that just about every converstation I have revolves about how quickly time is passing by. That time was given to us for a purpose. So, the question is are we redeeming the time that God has given us?
From our text and other passages, we will be examining what the scriptures reveal about time and how we are to make the most of what little time that we have. Let’s begin with a look at Ephesians chapter five. Starting at verse 15 it reads, “15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” (Eph. 5:15-17).
I believe our text from Micah plainly and clearly lays that out…
